Qualification and Experience
A. Senior
Scientist and Head
(a) Essential
Qualifications: (i) A 1st
class or high 2nd
class Master’s degree in the relevant subject or discipline
followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal
Science/Veterinary Science/Fishery Science.
(ii) A Doctoral
degree in any branch of Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Science/Fishery
Science.
(iii)
Eight (8) years’ experience in the
relevant subject as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent
position in the Pay Band-3 of Rs. 15,600/- - 39,100/- with Grade Pay Rs.
5,400/- Rs. 6,000/- Rs. 7,000/-, Rs. 8,000/- or in an equivalent position and
pay scale in pre-revised scale of pay.
(iv) Proven contribution
to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published
work/innovations.
(b)
Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of agricultural situation and
problems of the farmers of the state.
B. Subject
Matter Specialist:
Essential Qualifications: A
1st class
or high 2nd class
Master’s degree in the relevant subject/ discipline followed by a
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Science or Veterinary
Science from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Doctoral degree and/or NET in
the relevant subject/field.
Essential Qualifications: (i) Passed
H.S. or equivalent examination (10+2) with a certificate of stenography from
a recognized institution and Knowledge of Computer and its application; (ii)
Steno/typing speed @ 100/40 words/minute; (iii) Proficiency in English and
Bengali typing.
Desirable Qualification: Graduation with good
communication skills in English, Bengali and Hindi.
D. Subject
Matter Specialist (Agrometeorology):
Essential
Qualifications: Post Graduate in Agrometeorology/
Meteorology/ Agronomy/ Agricultural Physics. Preference will be given to
candidate with Agrometeorology qualification.
Desirable Qualification: Doctoral degree and/or NET in
the relevant subject/field.
E. Agromet
Observer:
Essential Qualifications: Passed H.S. or equivalent
examination in Science Stream.
Desirable Qualification: Knowledge about
agrometeorology.
Age Limit:
Relaxation of age for 5 years
for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates shall be made as per Govt. rules (Certificate
of SC/ST/OBC and PWD should be issued by the competent authority; At least 40%
disability certificate is needed for PWD candidates). However, the
age limit is not applicable to the persons who are already in service on
regular establishment of Government/other recognized institutions or
Universities.

Behar, Pin.- 736165, West Bengal so as to reach on or before 04 January 2019 (5 pm).

Application Fee: A
non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred) only for the
posts under Serial
No. A and B above (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates) and Rs. 300/- (Rupees three
hundred) only for the posts under the Serial No. C above (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST
candidates) should be paid by A/C payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of Uttar
Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, payable at Cooch Behar. On the top of
the envelope containing the application, write the words “ APPLICATION FOR
THE POST OF ……………….. under KVK” in block letters.
